Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile / web application Junior Nurse Exam Practice (准看護師試験過去問) (the “App”) handles user information. Please read it carefully before using the App.

The App is developed by an individual developer. It handles only the minimum information necessary to save and sync study records, show advertisements, and generate AI study advice.

1. Information We Collect

1-1. Information stored on the server (Supabase)

You can use all features as a guest (without signing in). In that case, the records above are stored only on the device (AsyncStorage) and are not sent to the server. When you sign in, the records accumulated on the device are synced to the server.

1-2. Information stored only on the device (never sent to the server)

Listening-mode preferences (playback speed, interval, auto-advance, etc.)
Local audio file download status
App settings such as exam date, target number of loops, and notification times

1-3. Information handled for advertising

The App shows ads via Google AdMob. To deliver ads, AdMob may obtain and use advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA) and device information.

On iOS, a tracking permission (ATT) dialog is shown. Ads are still shown if you decline, but they are not personalized.
In regions such as the EU / UK, AdMob’s consent management (UMP) asks for ad consent on first launch.

1-4. Information sent for AI study advice (pass roadmap)

In exchange for watching a rewarded ad, the App can have an AI suggest how to study. When generating advice, only the following anonymous aggregate data is sent to the server (via a Supabase Edge Function to Anthropic’s Claude API):

Days remaining until the exam, target number of loops, progress rates for past exams / flashcards, and weak-subject names and accuracy summaries

No name, email address, raw answers, or personally identifiable information is sent. The AI outputs only “how to study” and does not generate medical facts, diagnoses, or treatment content.

1-5. Information sent via “Report a question”

When you use the feature to report an error in a question, the report content, question ID, app version, platform, and—if you are signed in—your user ID are sent to and recorded as a GitHub Issue. Please do not enter personal information in the report body.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

The App does not collect any of the following:

Personally identifiable information such as name, phone number, or address (email is collected only at sign-in)
Device data such as location, camera, photos, contacts, or microphone input
Payment information
Behavioral analytics or tracking for purposes other than ad delivery

3. Purpose of Use

We use the collected information solely to:

Save and display study history (progress, accuracy, review-target extraction)
Sync data across multiple devices when signed in
Show advertisements (to keep the App free)
Generate AI study advice
Receive and handle “Report a question” submissions
Maintain proper functionality of the App

We never sell the collected information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following services to provide its features. Each is operated under its own privacy policy.

We do not share information with any third parties beyond those listed above.

5. Data Location and Retention

Data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted in the Tokyo region (ap-northeast-1).
Data is retained until you delete your account. Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete data stored on the server.

6. Data Deletion

From “Settings → Delete account (アカウントを全部消す)” while signed in, you can delete your server-side data (answer history, bookmarks, etc.) yourself. This action cannot be undone. See Account Deletion Request for details.
Guest records are stored only on the device and are removed when you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.

7. Access Control and Security

All communication is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
Server-side data is protected by row-level security (RLS) so that only the owner (auth.uid()) can access it.
Guest records are stored on the device and are not sent to the server.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 or older as a general rule. Users under 13 should use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as needed. Significant changes will be announced within the App or in the project’s GitHub repository.
